Here I am at the top of Loma Prieta Peak overlooking Santa Cruz, CA with my friend and brother-in-law Don Carroll.
My wife is the most beautiful woman on the planet – inside and out. She is the real deal. Lea Ann, and I live in the foothills of the Sierra Range – about an hour from the Desolation Wilderness and Lake Tahoe. We spend as much time on the trails and lakes as we can – which is usually a lot.
We have two grown kids and we love trekking with them in Costa Rica, Belize, Colorado, virtually anywhere. We are a blended family and have learned how to be both family and friend. What a gift. Frank is a herpetologist/adventurer living in Los Angeles and Mandi and her husband Bryce are amazing and live in Santa Cruz.
I am a pastor in a large Christian church and work with hundreds of people from all walks of life – people who want to live well for now and eternity, learn how to know and enjoy God, and how to share water with the thirsty.
I am a lifelong learner, a writer, leader, organizer – the older I get the more limber I become.
Mostly though I am learning how to be real – gravity wants to pull me to pretend, John Eldridge calls it posing.
So, I’m really trying to be real and that ends up like living and being.
